People on the autism spectrum are at the centre of everything we do.  Our expert team delivers a range of individualised and person centred services and support, train professionals and follow evidence based practice. With the biggest social reform for the disability sector among us, Autism SA is further embracing the opportunity for new, different and innovative ways of providing responsive and adaptable services.

We are now seeking to employ professionals to join the Autism SA family for a 12 month contract, with the possibility of extension in the important role of providing specialised support services predominantly in education environments. These roles can be for up to a FTE which will be negotiated with the successful candidates.

These roles will be based in the South, East / Lower North East region.

The Autism Spectrum Facilitator role is required to work within a multi-disciplinary framework to provide direct support to students with autism in a variety of environments including schools. This role is responsible for but not limited to:

  • Development of goals for the individual for the allocated support timeframe
  • Provide information, education and support to families, service providers and the general public

Essential:

  • Degree in Developmental Education (or related professional qualification)
  • Experience in a teaching environment and other qualifications will be considered
  • Current membership of the relevant professional association must be maintained
  • Practical experience working with individuals with autism

Desirable:

  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team
